A new and exciting poppy project is underway and your
unwanted red material and wool is needed for making lots and lots of poppies!
The project has been initiated in this special year to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, 100 years of the RAF and 100 years of votes for women. The poppies made from fabric, knitting and crochet will form a display to be exhibited during Poppy week and for Remembrance Sunday.
Amy McCarthy, TRAIL organiser is the key organiser for getting the poppies made and will be producing a ‘make do and mend’ style information sheet and pattern for people to follow. We want as many people as possible to get crafting and will be involving schools, community groups, holding drop-in sessions and individual packs will also be available.
Red material and wool can be delivered to Teignmouth Town Council at Bitton House, Bitton Park Road, Teignmouth during office opening hours 9am-5pm or to the TAAG Centre, Northumberland Place, Teignmouth.
