Teignmouth Town Council is delighted to announce that the plans for the new community units are now available to view on Teignbridge District Council’s Planning Portal. These new units will be a significant improvement, as the current facilities used by the Beaver, Cub, Scout and Cadet groups are outdated and some are in urgent need of refurbishment.
The new units will be constructed using steel profiled sheeting instead of the existing timber cladding, ensuring greater durability and longevity. Additionally, the roofs will be equipped with solar panels which will allow the community units to generate and store their electricity and reduce the energy they draw from the grid, providing substantial long-term savings. The new roofs will also provide better protection against inclement weather, resulting in drier and more comfortable spaces.
If planning permission is granted, the new design will offer significantly more space, allowing us to accommodate additional community groups.
